Geography: Ireland is a sovereign state in north-western Europe, which occupies about five sixths of the island of lreland; located in the eastern part of the island. The state shares its only land border with Northern Ireland, a part of the United Kingdom.
Weather and Environment: the western landscape mostly consists of rugged cliffs, hills and mountains. The central lowlands are extensively covered with glacial deposits of clay and sand, as well as significant areas of bogland and several lakes. The highest point is Carrauntoohil (1,038 m or 3,406 ft).
Due to a temperate oceanic climate, temperatures are seldom lower than −5 °C (23 °F) in winter or higher than 26 °C (79 °F) in summer. However, the average temperature in Ireland is 50°F.
During spring, which occurs in the months from February to April, the temperature varies from 46 to 54°F. Contrary to this, the season of summer takes place between May to July, whereby temperatures range from 64 to 68°F.
Major Economies: the Irish economy is mainly dependent on export trade and is heavily reliant on Foreign Direct Investment.Further to this, Ireland has also attracted several multinational corporations due to having such a highly educated workforce and a low corporation tax rate.
